We’ve helped all kinds of businesses and individuals relocate for over 45 years. As such, there are moving questions that seem to pop up time and time again. We’ve assembled this list to try to save future customers time when trying to choose a moving company. Top Moving Questions

Should I empty the clothes out of my chest of drawers/dresser before moving?

Most of the time, it is perfectly safe to leave the drawers, but there are a few instances when the contents should be packed. Antique, weak, bulky and heavy pieces should all be emptied.

How many days in advance should I schedule my move?

The sooner, the better! The moving industry is very seasonal – in the winter and fall there is quite a bit more flexibility.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check and all major credit cards.

Will my move be affected by bad weather like snow or ice?

Only if the weather becomes a safety issue for you, our crew or your furniture.

Are we allowed to help the movers?

We tend to discourage this; however, there are usually other tasks such as cleaning and simultaneously unpacking that can be done. If not – sit back and enjoy a cold beverage!

Do you charge extra for jobs that require flights of stairs?

This depends on the type of move you need. Your Allwest Relocation Consultant will be able to determine this when they conduct a free on-site estimate.

Does “full-service” include packing?

By definition, a full-service move includes packing, transportation, and unpacking. Your Relocation Consultant will work with you to set up a package that fits your needs and budget.

Do your small boxes have “handles” the same way that U-haul small boxes do?

No, but we do rent state of the art plastic moving totes. They are very sturdy and spacious plus you won’t need to deal with all of that left-over cardboard.

Do you still move outside of your office hours? I am wondering if I can schedule a late afternoon move.

Of course! We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

How much can fit in one truckload?

This can be a tough question to answer. We own and operate vehicles of all sizes – anything from a small van to a 53’ tractor trailer combination. Your Allwest Relocation Consultant will make this determination when setting up your move package.

We are moving to Washington from another state. Do you provide “unload only services”?

We have a crew of highly-trained, professional movers with special equipment available for unloading services. Please call Customer Service at (800)634-3155 to reserve.

What can I do to prepare for the movers?

Our goal is to guarantee your relocation is as safe, stress-free and efficient as possible. Please check out some of our resources under the “tools” tab. In addition, a customer service representative is available from 7am to 5pm M-F so please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.
